Summit Natural Gas of Maine Highlights Peaks Renewables’ Dairy Digester in 2022 Corporate Sustainability Report

The report showcases Summit's dedication to responsible business practices, community engagement, safety excellence, and a sustainable energy future.

In Maine, the CSR features Summit’s affiliate Peaks Renewables’ renewable natural gas dairy digester project in Clinton, Maine. The facility injects home-grown gas derived from dairy waste onto Summit’s distribution system. This is the first time in Maine that gas produced from dairy waste is being used to heat homes and businesses, while the renewable attributes are being sold to third parties to decarbonize the transportation system.
