BRANSON, Mo. (April 8, 2026) — Summit Natural Gas of Missouri, a subsidiary of Summit Utilities, announced applications are open for the 2026 Summit Cares Grant Program. The annual charitable giving program provides funding to nonprofit organizations working to strengthen communities across its service territory.

“Our employees live and work in the communities we serve, so supporting local nonprofits is personal for us,” Kurt Adams, president and chief executive officer for Summit Utilities, said. “Through Summit Cares, we’re proud to invest in organizations that are meeting real needs and helping our communities grow stronger.”

In 2023, Summit Natural Gas of Missouri adopted a multi-year giving plan that concluded in 2025. Over the three-year period, the company awarded $60,000 to five nonprofit organizations serving local communities. Beginning this year, Summit Natural Gas of Missouri will adapt the program by opening applications for single-year grants.

To qualify, applicants must operate within Summit’s Missouri territory and show documentation of 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax-exempt status. The deadline to apply is May 15, 2026, and recipients will be announced in mid-June.

Summit Cares prioritizes organizations focusing on four key areas:

  • Basic Human Needs: Supporting organizations that provide food, housing, and other essentials.
  • STEAM Education: Investing in programs that empower students and the public through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
  • Community Enrichment: Strengthening communities through cultural and recreational programs that foster belonging and vibrancy.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Encouraging conservation, energy efficiency, and innovation to reduce environmental impact.
